# Goalmatic developer tools

> Create and ship a Vue Site or App with the beta CLI.

The Goalmatic CLI connects a local Vue project to a Goalmatic Site or App. It can create the starter and its remote project, sign you in, select an account, link an existing project into an empty directory, connect GitHub, and send a preview or release request.

The CLI is in beta. Commands and server responses may change between beta releases.

Use a **Site** for public pages and simple forms. Use an **App** for a signed-in product that uses Goalmatic Tables, workflows, integrations, or account data. Both start from the Vue todo project. The Site and local App Demo keep tasks in page memory and reset on refresh. A hosted App uses the Goalmatic runtime and declares its `todos` Table.

```bash theme={null}
npm create goalmatic@beta my-todo
```

For command help and project commands, use `npx goalmatic@beta --help`. Use `npx goalmatic@beta create my-todos --local --type site --name my-todos` to generate a todo project without authentication. Connected setup signs in to Goalmatic and creates or links the remote project.
